If you’re new to the internet then now is a good time to warn you about online security and give you some tips to help you stay safe from the hackers who seem determined to cause so much damage around the world.
Just recently I’ve heard so many people say their blogs and sites have come under attack, so it’s worth a little extra security to stay safe online.
Tip #1
Make sure you change your allocated password if you have a WordPress blog.
Tip #2
Always go to the source for any themes and plug-ins, don’t use any that have been sitting around on your hard drive for sometime – they can have security leaks.
Tips #3
Always make a back-up of your website or your blogs so you can at least reinstate an older version and not lose all your content.
Tip #4
Don’t share your log-in details with others.
Tip #5
If you’re using a web designer or programmer on a ‘one-off’ basis allocate them a different password from yours as the administrator and go in and change it as soon as they’ve completed the project/task.
