I looked at it with disbelief as it was from a person I had met at a networking event the previous week.

What was so surprising was this… well actually two things surprised me:

No. 1: The email was in a newsletter format (which I now know is called an ezine) and it was full of tips and information on Internet Marketing (which I had never heard of back then). I stared at the email in wonderment thinking how on earth this person could have put all these lovely graphics and text together to form this electronic newsletter.

I didn’t realize it was actually a template and all you do is just fill-in-the-blanks. But what was also pretty amazing was that it arrived around midnight in my email inbox so I (rather naively) imagined she was actually sitting at her computer sending these emails out one at a time – even at that time of night!

I must admit I was fascinated… how could she do this? I had no idea she was using a neat little program known as ‘email marketing’ which allows you to program the email messages in beforehand and decide at what time you want them sent out, like AWeber which has a $1 trial..

No. 2: Then I thought back to our conversation and remembered she had told me she was a coach helping people with their business. I had sent her some useful information by email about a course I had heard about which may be of interest to her.

You know the sad thing is… I never even received an acknowledgement from her, let alone an expression of thanks – yet here she was sending me emails all about her business and pitching her services. She didn’t have my permission to send me the newsletter and that’s a big no, no as you MUST have someone’s permission before you start sending them emails. This can easily be done with the email marketing software widely available now like AWeber.

But before I draw this story to a close… I must admit that she doesn’t even realize how that one email has changed my life and sent me down a pathway I would not have gone. You see, I made it my business to learn as much as I could about internet marketing and getting my own training and business online.

Yes, I have learnt a great deal since that particular day back in 2008 and I’ve spent weeks, months and years figuring it all out and spent a small fortune into the bargan! So don’t despair if you’re just starting your own business online and feeling frustrated, as it won’t happen overnight.

You need to find a model that suits you, a product or service that people want and need… and most important of all… that they are willing to pay you for and most of all a trusted advisor who can lead you through the maze of processes and systems you need for everything to work on autopilot.

Relation marketing is what it’s all about nowadays, building trust before you ever start to sell.

Remember the 4 Golden Rules of Relationship Marketing before you start pitching for the sale:

1. Understand totally the needs of your target audience and provide them with exactly the solutions they are searching for. Make an effort to be ‘of service’. Tap into their thoughts and feelings and get right to the heart of their problems to help them find solutions.

2: Build trust first – before you start to sell them anything (not like the lady in this story) you can do this by providing good quality information that can make a difference to their lives.

3: Always, always, always get their permission first before you start to market to them – you can do this by creating a simple 1-page web site called a ‘Squeeze Page’ and add opt-in box which allows you to capture their contact details and stay within the regulations (this is called permission-based marketing).

4. Stay in touch with them by using an email marketing system that works on autopilot (even while you sleep or go on vacation!).

Check out my FREE 30-Page Manual to Create a 1-Page Website (Squeeze Page) to capture your visitors names and emails addresses to stay in touch and build a relationship them.
You may have heard that all you have to do is write an eBook and sell it online – doing it that way CAN make you some money.

But the really smart marketers know that the eBook is just the beginning of the process to making a lot of money online.

You see the eBook is a way of you introducing yourself to the your ideal target audience. It can be free and offered as a giveaway from your Squeeze Page or if it contains really ‘hard to find’ information, you can charge for it.

The ‘secret sauce’ of the simple eBook

What you may not know is that most successful internet marketers repurpose everything they ever create. They use their content over and over again in different ways and I’m going to walk you through 10 ways you can do it too (after you’ve written your eBook that is!).

1. Directly selling the eBook
After you’ve tested the waters and made a few sales start to sign up affiliates and pay them 50% commission to reach the people you can’t reach so it’s a ‘win win’ situation.

2. Give away your eBook as a way of building your list
As we mentioned previously, eBooks are a great way to capture your visitors contact details and build an army of raving fans.

3. Give away your eBook for free – but make it rebrandable
Affiliates are always looking for content and you can drive people back to your blog or website

4. Turn the eBook into a ‘Mini-site’ and ‘Flip-it’
If you don’t like to market the book yourself get help to turn it into a minisite – add some graphics and put it on www.Flippa.com for sale.

5. Turn it into a Kindle or physical book
You can always repurpose the content and turn it into a Kindle book – or even self-publish as Amazon have made it so easy with Createspace.

6. Sell it as PLR (Public Label Rights)
Create a complete package with website and graphics and give others the rights to use your material

7. Add it as a Bonus for your higher end products

8. Split the eBook into Chapters and repurpose as Short Reports

9. Create videos from the content and double the price

10. Go on to write another eBook in a series

Ready to get started and MAKE MONEY from your expertise by Writing an eBook?

Lots of people dream of starting their own business and leaving a job they either hate or are bored with. But stastics show many new entrepreneurs fail in the first year or so – that’s mainly due to the fact they don’t have the right skills and knowledge. But remember learning a new skill is just like riding a bike – the more you do it – the more you learn, the more confident you get!

Let’s cover ten easy steps you can take to learn these new skills so your web business from home is a succes.

1. Make sure there’s a market
Before you set up a home-based web business you need to make sure there is a healthy market who WANT what you have to offer. Don’t make the mistake of just assuming because you like a business idea then people will buy what you have to offer – it doesn’t work that way.

2. Get yourself a domain name ie, a web address
This can either be your own name, your company name or it even your product’s name. Either way, companies like GoDaddy sell domain names relatively cheap, so pop over and check them out at GoDaddy.

3. Organize your hosting
This is your private little piece of real estate on the Internet where you’ll keep your files, images, audios and videos etc. Because you pay for this space you can relax knowing your content is save and secure. I recommend BlueHost Package (my affiliate link) as it offers unlimited domains and unlimited hosting space. You can expect to pay only $6.95 a month (or less if they have any special offers) and you normally pay for a year in advance as it’s such an affordable price.

4. Decide what you’re going to sell
Look at what you have to sell – is it a service or it is a product? The difference is huge as a service is harder to measure and harder to sell as normally you can’t touch a service and it is intangible. On the other hand physical products can be measured – but can also be harder to package and stock.

5. Sell other people’s products until you have your own
If you haven’t got any of your own products yet to sell online yet – don’t worry. You can always pop over to ClickBank which is the largest marketplace of digitals products (products that can be downloaded from the Internet). Take a look at what’s on offer there from the thousands of products in numerous categories that people in a similar market to you are making available for you to sell and receive commission.

This is called ‘affiliate marketing’ and you can make a lot of money if you have the right product, the right market and you know how to promote actively and effectively online.

If you find it too confusing trawling through all the products on Clickbank than I recommend signing up for a service like CB Engine which makes it a lot easier to see categories in Clickbank at a glance and also which products in your market are selling well.

6. Set-Up a method of receiving money
You’ll need to be able to accept payments online once you start trading. The method most new entrepreneurs use is PayPal – it’s easy to set up and you can be ready to accept online payments in just a few days. They normally like to deposit two small amounts (approx $1 or less) into your bank account then you confirm the 4-letter code beside the transaction in your bank account to get verified – then you’re’ good to go’!

7. Offer a free giveaway
People just love to get something for free, I do and you probably do too, right? One of the most popular ways to start building your list of prospective buyers is to offer them something of value for free. This could be a special report, or some top tips, a video or an audio class – in fact you can sign up and listen in to one of my free audio classes by visiting ’5 Ways to Transform Your Information To Sell Online’

8. Record an audio to offer as a free giveaway
If you want to offer REALLY good value with your free giveaway to build your list then why not record an audio explaning how to solve a problem to accompany your free special report or eBook. Audio Acrobat make it so easy even for a NON-TECHIE to record an audio with their own phone (from their kitchen table). You can take a FREE Trial today at Audio Acrobat

9. Create a Simple 1-Page Website to promote your offers
I don’t want you to make the mistake of paying a webmaster a fortune to create an old-fashioned website for you. You really DON’T need to do this to promote your services or products online – what you need is a simple 1-page website called a ‘Squeeze Page’. You can see a perfect example of a Squeeze page in action by visiting one of mine over at http://www.SqueezePageSavvy.com – sign up for my FREE 30-page Manual and fill-in-the-blanks template of you want to create your own!

10. Off you go!

Squeeze Pages, or 1-page websites, are what you need if you want to capture your visitors names and contact details so you can stay in touch and build a relationship. It’s a big mistake to think people will buy from you the first time they see you or land on your website.

Imagine this… a salesman turns up at your door trying to sell you a vacuum cleaner – would you buy from him immediately? Probably not – they’d need to really explain why you should be buying their products first, right? Why do you think some door-to-door salesmen used to spend hours in people’s homes trying to convince them to buy their products? It’s because they had to build trust, before they secured a sale.

You have to do exactly the same (no, not bang on people’s doors!) on the web when you want to advertise your products and services. You need to build trust and let people get to know you better.

A perfect way to do this is by creating a simple 1-page website and offering your visitor a free giveaway for finding your site so they can sample your products or services. You could even promote other people’s products too, if you don’t have any of your own, this is called affiliate marketing.

So, with this in mind let me share 7 tips with you so you can create your own Squeeze Pages to generate leads and build your list of prospective clients fast:

Tip 1: Include a compelling headline

When I design my Squeeze pages now helping people start a business online, I make sure I’ve understood the problem my visitors are having so I can make sure my title addresses their needs. Using emotive words that spark some kind of emotional reaction from your visitor will also help.

Tip 2: Stress the benefits, not the features

People with problems are looking for solutions so provide them with what the end result will be not just HOW they need to do it. For example, a benefit of a weight loss program could be that by following a 1000 calorie diet you could lose several pounds over a 6-week period. The feature is how they do it, for example, by eating prepared low calorie meals.

Tip 3: Provide bullet-points

Most people on the web just scan information, so make sure you use bullet-points (around five is a good number) to present your benefits clearly and quickly.

Tip 4: Don’t go font crazy

Make sure you use good professional fonts such as Arial, Tahoma or Verdana

Tip 5: Watch the font size

Your font size for the body should be no smaller than 12 pixels or points. The heading can be around 20-24 pixels and in either red or black, or a mixture of both colors.

Tip 6: Add an Opt-in Box

Add an opt-in box with a prewritten autoresponder code at the bottom of your page where visitors can enter their contact details – so you can stay in touch with them.

Tip 7: No distracting links

Make sure the only links you include on your Squeeze Page are to your company/legal information only, usually along the bottom. Do NOT provide links to any other sites, as this will only dilute your important message – and they may not come back!

You have probably seen the initials RSS all over the internet – they stand for Really Simple Syndication, so what does that actually mean?

Well, a good way to describe this is to think of how the news services can constantly update their news messages to keep us all informed of events going on all over the world. It used to be really complicated to create a blog and benefit from the powerful RSS feeds pushing out the new information constantly – but not any more.

It is now easier than ever to build a blog and find yourself a little corner of the Internet where you can share your views and even make money online. By creating a blog you are making it easy for your visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed, where they can receive your updates through a special ‘reader’ and not by email, which is becoming increasingly more difficult to ensure deliverability, mainly due to the high percentage of spam cluttering up all our in-boxes nowadays.

But a word of caution if you are creating a blog for your business, you should be aware that the free blogging platforms do not usually permit commercial usage, which means you cannot advertise products or services or monetize your blog.

Alternatively, the ‘open-source’ blogging platforms are great if you are already computer savvy, but as they offer no hand-holding central support system for beginners or newcomers, you may be challenged if you find yourself stuck with HTML or PHP coding problems.

A better option for you, particularly if you have limited computer skills, is to choose a third-party hosted blog platform who will take care of all the technical and security problems, as well as offering beginners a 24/7 ticket support system.

This is a great way to stay in touch with the people on their subscription list, however, many totally underestimate the amount of time and effort required in producing a weekly ezine.

They can find it difficult to find fresh content and often struggle to meet the weekly deadline.

Here are 7 tips to help you find content for your weekly ezine:

1. Keep a notebook handy beside your computer and take note of any interesting article, blog post or snippet of information in your sector you feel will add value and be of interest to your clients.

2. Consider sending out a survey asking your clients the main problems they are encountering. Use this information as a basis for one section of your ezine until you have exhausted the list, then send out another survey asking a different set of questions.

3. Add an ‘Ask (your name)’ section to your blog or website and encourage your clients to send you their questions. Use this information to form the basis of a ‘Q & A’ section.

4. You may wish to share some personal news and information about yourself in your ezine. However, a word of caution, do not disclose information that could breach your personal security.

5. Include a ‘Recommended by (your name)’ section and use this to promote products or services you find are good value for money.

6. Considering becoming an affiliate for products or services you feel are complimentary to your own and promote these occasionally.

7. Add a ‘Coming events’ section to inform your clients of your up and coming events and new products launches.
